What does a wedding celebrant do? š¤
As a wedding celebrant, I often find myself explaining what my role entails, Iāve had people think that Iāve become celibate which is quite funny or have the idea that Iām some kind of toast master š¾ so letās lift the veil (pun intended!)) and dive into the wonderful world of being a celebrant.
āļø Getting to know you
One of the first things I do is get to know you as a couple. This means sitting down for a chat to learn about your love story, how you met and what makes your relationship so special. Itās about understanding your personalities and what you both envision for your big day.
š Creating your Ceremony
Once I understand your story I will create your unique ceremony, this is where the magic happens! I will help you choose the structure of the day, selecting readings, poems and incorporate traditions that are meaningful to you. Whether itās a traditional ceremony or something more modern I will ensure that it a reflection of you both and your journey together.
š Leading the Ceremony
On the day itself, Iāll be there to lead and co-ordinate the ceremony from end to end. This will involve guiding you and your guests through the proceedings, helping everyone feel at ease, and ensuring everything flows smoothly and to plan. My overall goal is to create a warm and welcoming atmosphere for you and your guests.
š¤ Providing Support
Weddings can sometimes be emotional and Iām here to support you throughout the process. Whether itās calming your nerves before walking down the aisle or offering guidance during the planning stages my role is to support you both.
š Lasting Memories
Ultimately, my overall aim is to help you create a ceremony that will be memorable for you and your guests, I want your wedding ceremony to be a true reflection of your love filled with moments youāll cherish for a lifetime.
So, there you have it! As a celebrant I wear many hats, - listener, writer, organiser and supporter. If youāre planning your wedding and would like to learn more about how I can help, feel free to contact me.
Wishing you all the best on your journey to āI doā š
